SMS Campaign

The initial steps to use Web2SMS service is to buy the amount of credits that is needed for your campaign (Instructions in the menu "BUY CREDITS") and import your contacts in the Phone Book (Instructions in the menu "PHONE BOOK"). After that, you will be ready to complete your SMS campaign, by following the procedure below:

  1. Select the menu "Services".
  2. Select the service "Web2SMS".
  3. From the categories of the service select "New SMS Campaign".

  4. In the form that appears, please fill in the gaps with the details of your campaign:
    • Sender: Fill in up to 11 latin characters or 16 digits
    • SMS Type: Select if you want to send a simple SMS, a Flash SMS or a Unicode SMS (enables you to write in any alphabet you want)
    • SMS Length: Select if you want to write a SMS up to 160 characters or a SMS with more than 160 characters
    • SMS Text: Enter the text you want to send to your recipients.
If your text is written in a word file and you paste it in this field, please delete and write again the last character of the text, in order to update the field of characters, which follows.
      • Personalized SMS: During writing your message, you can add some personalized data for each recipient, by pressing the corresponding buttons. It is necessary to enter the data in the Phone Book first. For example, if you want the message to start with a salutation, by mentioning each recipient's surname, e.g. Mr Pappas, you will have to press {Title} and {Last Name}, and then you will continue with the rest of the message.

    • Characters: This field is automatically filled in during your writing the message in order to inform you how many characters you have written.
    • Number of SMS: This field is automatically filled in during your writing the message in order to inform you how many credits you will be charged per customer, if your text exceeds 160 characters.
    • Recipients form Lists: Select one or more groups of your Phone Book to receive your SMS.
    • You can search for them either by date sorting or by name sorting, after selecting the corresponding option which appears on the right.

If you have not imported your group yet, press the button "Import Contacts" and the system will lead you to the instructions of the Phone Book, in order to insert your recipients in a list.

    • Additional recipients: If you want a few phone numbers to receive your SMS but they are not in a selected group of your Phone Book, you can add them in this field either in column or separated with comma.
    • Save as Template: You can save the Sender and the Text, in order to be able to repeat the campaign in the future. If you check the checkbox, you will be asked to give a name to the template you will save, in the field "Description", in order to find it easily in the future in the list of your templates.
  5. Press "Next".
  6. The form that appears informs you about the details of your campaign. You have to check it before sending your SMS.

    You have the following options:

    • The option "Real cost" will calculate how many credits the campaign will charge you. The real cost is sometimes different from the estimated cost, which is calculated directly on the form.
    • With the option "Send test SMS", you can send a single SMS to a phone number that you will write on the left, before you complete your campaign. You will be charged with the credits for one SMS. This option helps you check how the SMS will be received in your mobile phone.
    • By pressing "Schedule for future delivery" the campaign will take place in a different date and time that you will declare. If you choose this option, the button "Send" will be renamed into "Schedule" and if you press it, you will be charged with the cost of credits at the current time, but the campaign will take place at the date and time you set.
  7. Press the button "Send". The system will inform you that your SMS campaign is submitted successfully. If in the previous step you chose to schedule your SMS for a future time, in this step the button is renamed into "Schedule".
